Living a sustainable life from an early age, Anuj Ramatri was born in a family with a deep appreciation for the environment and a love for sustainable living. Even as a child, he was always conscious of how resources were being used and how waste was being generated. He grew up in a family that emphasised the importance of using resources in an efficient manner, whether it was by turning old clothes into mops or getting electrical appliances repaired instead of buying new ones. Anuj’s upbringing taught him the value of sustainable living, and he carried this mindset with him as he grew older. He felt that we all have a responsibility to live in a way that minimizes our impact on the environment and reduces waste. Anuj understood that the resources we use are finite, and that we need to use them in a way that preserves them for future generations.
Starting as a filmmaker; Anuj Ramatri began his professional career as a filmmaker. He believes that cinema is a powerful medium that has a deep impact on people’s lives. He felt that films can be a great tool to spread a positive message in society which could motivate people to learn and make changes in their lives. Starting off in his career he made commercial ad and corporate ad films, which he pursued for 5-6 years. Yet, despite his success in the industry, Anuj felt that his work was not having the positive impact on society that he had hoped for, following the trend he switched towards short content such as skits, web series on YouTube & Facebook. Still he felt that there was very little social impact from his work.
FROM FILMMAKER TO ECO-INFLUENCER Anuj’s journey as an eco-influencer began with a simple argument with a friend over the use of tissue paper. Anuj pointed out that using tissue paper is not good for the environment, but his friend replied that a single person cannot bring about any change.
This in turn became the fundamental motto of Anuj’s journey towards bringing about an awareness which led to the change he had always aspired for. From that moment onwards, he was determined to share stories about Startups and people who are working towards the solutions for social problems. Facing Challenges and overcoming them. But, it wasn’t an easy journey for him.
As someone who had always been working behind the scenes as a video editor, writer, and director, Anuj was hesitant to come in front of the camera. This fear kept him from pursuing his passion for creating content around sustainability and he would delay his project. But in January 2020, Anuj decided to make a New Year’s resolution to overcome his fear, he published his first video on 6th January 2020, which received an overwhelming response of over 500 shares. The positive feedback motivated him to keep going and posting more content.
Anuj’s fourth video, about how tissue paper is a threat became a hit, going viral across all platforms, and since then, he has been unstoppable. He has continued to post new content every week, inspiring his followers to adopt a sustainable lifestyle. Through his perseverance and determination, Anuj has shown that it’s never too late to pursue your passions and overcome your fears. His story is a testament to the fact that hard work and consistency can pay off in the long run.
Anuj believes that discussing problems is the first step towards finding a solution, but it is not enough. He highlights that discussing the problems over and over again will not solve them, but rather, we need to shift our focus towards finding solutions. Anuj’s vision is to create a sustainable future by making people aware of their impact on the environment and inspiring them to take action towards a greener and healthier planet.
To achieve his vision, Anuj has launched a company called “EcoFreaky,” which sells eco-friendly products at affordable prices. The company’s aim is to make sustainable products accessible to everyone and encourage people to switch to more sustainable and eco-friendly options. Anuj’s company EcoFreaky not only sells eco-friendly products, but it also educates people on the importance of adopting a sustainable and eco-friendly lifestyle. Anuj’s vision is not limited to selling eco-friendly products, but it is also about creating a community of like-minded people who share the same vision.
