6th edition of ICICC 2023 organised by Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies

  • Strong Boot-up of ICICC 2023

The 6th edition of ICICC 2023 (International Conference on Innovative Computing and Communication) organized by Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, University of Delhi (SSCBS), in collaboration with National Institute of Technology, Patna (NIT) and University of Valladolid, Valladolid, Spain; kicked off with much fanfare today at the SSCBS campus, Rohini in Delhi.

This aplomb is courtesy of the support that ICICC-2023 has received from a bevy of institutions of eminence in India and abroad viz. Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Govt of India, Digital India, National e-Governance Division (NeGD); and international labs SGRT and SRGE from Egypt and Sfax from Tunisia.

Thanks to their support and the support of like-minded institutions over the years, ICICC has come a long way from its first couple of editions in 2018 (Held at GNIM in Delhi) and 2019 at the Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic. Since 2020, the conference has resided at SSCBS, moving through all the ups and downs of Covid with the grace of a ballerina.

ICICC is a flagship conference that aims to bring together innovative scientists, professors, research scholars, students, and industrial experts in the field of Computing and Communication in a common forum. The primary goal of the conference is to promote the exchange of innovative scientific information between researchers, developers, engineers, students, and practitioners. Another goal is to promote the transformation of fundamental research into institutional and industrialized research and to convert applied exploration into the real-time application. Overall, the conference will provide the researchers and attendees with prospects for national and international collaboration and networking among universities and institutions from India and abroad for promoting research.

Computing and Communication have converged rapidly during the Covid-19 pandemic era and their confluence has gained a permanent foothold in the world of academics and corporates. Online meetings and collaborations just scratch the surface of the possibilities that this confluence has to offer, turbocharging growth in the use of IT Tools and ICT in classrooms, boardrooms, offices, and remote working alike.

At this juncture, it is critical that we also look towards motivating researchers to come up with new products and uses of this most powerful of tools. Without critical research performed over the past few decades, the advances in communication that we have seen wouldn’t simply have been possible. Also, in this multidisciplinary world, where growth and learning can come from everywhere, it is essential to have a platform that can bring views, innovations, and research from multiple domains together cohesively so as to generate meaningful learning today and beyond. It is hoped that ICICC-2023 can perform this role with élan.

Over the years, the ICICC conference series has earned a high ‘h index’ and H5 index of 20 with total Google Scholar citations hovering around the 2500 mark. More than 1553 articles with an average acceptance rate of 23% in 15 different volumes of Springer from 58 different countries have been successfully published twinning with a unique combination of 59 extended papers published in SCI-indexed journals and 103 extended papers in Scopus Indexed Journals. ICICC helped to complete 81 Ph.D. degrees by publishing 162 Journal papers, learning alongside the 64 keynotes, 13 international workshops, and more than 100 special sessions organized in the past 5 editions. These have been joined by the 4000 researchers from across the world who’ve taken part in offline, hybrid, and online modes.

ICICC 2023 promises to make a meaningful contribution to this journey. More than 850 paper submissions from researchers spread across 32 countries have been received. A 20% acceptance rate ably demonstrates that the quality of submissions has been accorded the highest importance, befitting its growing stature. Over the 2 day event, 3 keynotes from Spain, London, and IIT Delhi will sound the starting bell for 18 sessions which will see 170 articles being presented. These registered will have the opportunity for reaching further afield via publication in the Lecture Notes in Networks and Systems series of Springer (a SCOPUS AND WEB OF SCIENCE INDEXED prestigious series of a reputed publication house). These papers will have further publication opportunities with reputed publication houses like Elsevier, Wiley, MDPI, and Inderscience.

ICICC 2023 is fortunate to have received its starter’s orders from distinguished academicians and corporate executives like Mr. Vikas Goyal, Sr. Director – IT Security, FIS Risk, Information Security and Compliance (RISC); Prof. Naveen Kumar, Dean, Faculty of Mathematical Science, University of Delhi; Prof. Rajesh Ingle, IIIT Naya Raipur; Prof K. Ratnabali, Dean-Academic Affairs, University of Delhi; Prof. David Camacho, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain; Prof. B.K. Panigrahi, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Delhi, Mr. Aninda Bose, Sr. Executive Editor, London Springer, Dr. Ashish Khanna, MAIT, GGSIPU, Dr. Deepak Gupta, MAIT, GGSIPU, Mr. Moolchand Sharma, MAIT, GGSIPU and Prof. Poonam Verma, Principal, SSCBS.

It is hoped that all participants (researchers, academicians, corporate executives, and students) will greatly benefit from the high quality research being shared at this forum.
