Mumbai: Bigg Boss 20 participant Rhiti Tiwari (Manoj Tiwari’s daughter) recently shed light on her personal life, relationship with her father and financial hardships she had faced during her quest to build a career of her own.
In the recent episode of Bigg Boss 20, Rhiti shared candidly some of her childhood memories with her fellow contestants Young and Scout and also shared her relationship with her father. She remembered that after her parents’ divorce her father left the family and that she had few chances to see him after her parents’ separation. At that time, her parents were very different and she saw her father about once a year, she said.
Rhiti said that when she was around 18 or 19 years old, she decided that she wanted to spend more time with her father and understand him better as a person. However, she said that by then, some things in their relationship had already been delayed.
Reflecting on being the daughter of a well-known public figure, Rhiti said that she inherited her father’s name and the respect associated with it, but not the wealth, opportunities or other privileges that people may associate with a celebrity family.
According to Rhiti, her father had also made it clear that he would not provide direct assistance in building her career. She said his approach was that if she had the ability, she should establish herself through her own efforts rather than relying on his influence.
Rhiti further spoke about the financial limitations she says she has experienced. She stated that she receives a monthly allowance of approximately Rs 20,000–25,000 and questioned whether that amount would be sufficient to meet all of a person’s monthly expenses. She also said that the financial support was not always enough for her to pursue learning and career opportunities outside.
Sharing an example of her everyday spending, Rhiti said that there have been occasions when she ate a Rs 10 vada pav twice a day to fill her stomach. She also said that when travelling, she sometimes gets only around Rs 500 worth of diesel, using what she described as only what is necessary.
Addressing the perception surrounding celebrity children, Rhiti said that people often assume that she grew up with substantial financial privilege because of her father’s identity. However, she said that her personal experience has been different and that she considers herself an ordinary person who has had to navigate her own challenges.
Her revelations on Bigg Boss 20 have offered viewers a more personal perspective on Rhiti Tiwari beyond her identity as Manoj Tiwari’s daughter. Her comments have also highlighted her desire to build an independent identity and career while carrying the recognition associated with her family name.
Rhiti Tiwari’s entry into Bigg Boss 20 has generated attention as she attempts to make her own mark on the reality show.
