Landmark China–India Technology Collaboration Opens New Chapter in Sustainable Construction

The agreement was formally concluded on September 1, 2026, following an intensive three-day technology transfer and product-development programme involving detailed technical discussions, machinery studies, process optimisation, mixed-design evaluation and practical production trials.
The collaboration represents an important step towards adapting advanced recycling and construction technology to the specific characteristics of Indian waste plastic and locally available raw materials.
Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy Leads India-Specific Product Development
A key feature of the technology-transfer programme was the active involvement of Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy, representing Dongyue Engineering & Fabricators, India.
Rather than simply adopting an existing Chinese production formula, Dr. Reddy worked closely with the Dongyue technical team to develop and test India-specific raw-material mixes and production parameters.
Samples were manufactured directly on the machinery using the types of recycled plastic and other raw materials available in India. The products were then subjected to rigorous performance evaluation, including abrasion resistance and strength testing, with particular attention to their suitability for Indian construction applications.
The results were highly encouraging.
The newly developed recycled plastic products demonstrated excellent performance and, in the tests conducted, performed significantly better than comparable conventional products, reinforcing the potential of recycled plastic as a high-performance construction material.
The successful trials also demonstrated that the technology can be adapted to different raw-material compositions rather than being restricted to a single predetermined recipe.
From Plastic Waste to Construction Materials
The technology transfer focuses on the conversion of difficult-to-recycle plastic waste into useful construction products such as:
