Mumbai:With a familiar cast and a new face to the comedy genre, Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal 5′ promises to take the franchise back to theatres. Led by Ajay Devgn, the fifth one, which stars Akshay Kumar, will hit the theatres on January 8, 2027.
Rohit Shetty had officially announced the release date, along with a new poster and teaser for the film, through social media on Saturday. The movie’s press release emphasized the importance of laughter, fun, joy and family. The makers also said that it was the start of 2027 with the ‘new madness’ and had retained the trademark ‘Golmaal’ flavour.
Some of the actors of the franchise are making a comeback in ‘Golmaal 5′. The actors, Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemmu, Shreyas Talpade and Tusshar Kapoor will be back as their characters, Gopal, Arshad, Kunal, Shreyas and Tusshar. After 19 years, Sharman Joshi, who played in the first ‘Golmaal: Fun Unlimited’ in 2006, is also making a comeback to the franchise.
Another major aspect of the upcoming film is that it will also be the first one to introduce Akshay Kumar to the ‘Golmaal’ universe. His involvement with this project was announced earlier this 2026, but there has been no details on his character.
