One of the biggest surprises of Welcome To The Jungle comes when audiences least expect it.As the film inches towards its interval, the screen takes a surprising turn with Kyun – a collaboration between Akshay Kumar and independent music sensation Talwiinder. The sequence has been a talking point and one of the most discussed moments in the film, not just because of its placement but also because it brings together two worlds that rarely meet on screen. Talwiinder has long carved out his own niche with his signature sound. Kyun is a new crossover, taking his music into the vibrant world of the Welcome franchise, but retaining the style that has made him a favourite with young listeners.
Akshay Kumar’s cool new look just makes the song better The actor effortlessly gets into the groove-led number with a slick, modern avatar His natural screen charm and fun performance is a perfect match to Talwiinder’s style and infuses the sequence with an energy that’s fresh yet in line with the irreverent tone of Welcome To The Jungle. Speaking about the collaboration, Talwiinder says, “When I first heard the idea, I knew it wasn’t going to be a conventional Bollywood song. The challenge was to bring my sound into the world of Welcome without changing what people know me for. Working with Akshay sir on this was an experience I’ll always remember. I hope audiences enjoy the surprise as much as we enjoyed creating it.” This is Talwiinder’s maiden Bollywood number. The lyrics of the track are by Talwiinder, Kyun stays rooted in the singer’s signature style while finding a natural place within the film. The song has been composed Talwiinder along with NDS who has also mixed and mastered the track with Meggha Bali as the music supervisor.
Rather than announcing the collaboration months in advance, the makers chose to hold it back, allowing audiences to discover it in theatres. That decision has paid off, with the sequence becoming a conversation starter among viewers. Hats off to the packed team who were able to hold off the information at a time when leaks from sets are rampant and cameos are hard to hide from the public before the film.
