Q1.What inspired you to create this story, and how did the initial idea come about?
Well, a bunch of things inspired me to write this story—they range from series to movies and even games. The idea for this story was something I had been cooking up for a really long time, but mainly discussing it with a few like-minded friends made it possible for me to write it!
Q2: Could you describe your writing process? Do you have any routines or unique practices that help your creativity?
I do not have any routine or rituals, but I should cultivate the habit to make better time for writing. Sometimes I don’t want to write at all, and other times ideas just flood in—and even if it’s in the middle of the night, I get up and pen them down. Not a very healthy approach indeed, but it gets the job done haha!
Q3: Your characters are vivid and distinct. Are they based on real people, or purely from your imagination?
They are all from imagination most of the time, but yes, a few of the concepts are definitely inspired by our great Indian mythos. I tend to keep it original as long as I can.
Q4: Your book explores [specific theme]. What drove you to focus on this, and what key messages do you hope readers take away?
Yes, my book deals with a mytho-sci-fi theme, which is very much in trend now. Our own mythos and epic history have so much to explore, and all these pretty much inspired me to write the story. Readers will definitely take away a lot of morals from my story, as I also touch on a few things every human being deals with in their day-to-day life.
Q5: The world-building in your novel is rich and immersive. How did you craft the setting, and did real-world locations or history influence it?
I am very lazy in gathering real-world references most of the time haha! Well, as the story flows, I already have in mind what I want, and luckily I literally get visualizations of my scenes. That helps a lot, as I don’t really need any references.
Q6: How do you balance originality with genre expectations? Were there challenges in putting your own spin on familiar elements?
Well, I usually stay away from writing anything that might resemble familiar events. It would be a complete coincidence if anyone finds any similarity in the future as we move forward with the story.
Q7: The pacing keeps readers engaged from start to finish. How do you maintain tension and momentum throughout the narrative?
Here is where all those hours of watching series and movies with good cinematography and story, of course, come in handy. Also, I believe in a non-linear way of storytelling with a cliffhanger in every episode I write. Leaving people with more questions is what I believe a story should do, which also leaves a lot of room for the universe to expand. But I know where to stop and how to create the awe factor!
Q8: In today’s rapidly changing media landscape, how do you see traditional storytelling evolving, and how do you ensure your work connects with modern audiences?
In my experience, I don’t think people will stop collecting physical mediums and traditional storytelling. The mind has no limitations, and neither do stories. With my story, I can assure that it will connect with a lot of people, both in the present as well as the future. After all, my stories are all sci-fi, with hints of mythology. It will pass on through generations. That’s my belief at least.
