One of India’s most loved voices, Shreya Ghoshal, paid a special visit to the Indian Singers and Musicians Rights Association (ISAMRA) office, making it a memorable occasion filled with warmth, nostalgia and conversations about ISAMRA, Performers Rights and the future of India’s music fraternity.
For an artist whose voice has touched millions of hearts across generations, the visit was also a moment to reconnect with the people and the collective journey behind the royalty rights for singers through ISAMRA.
The celebrated playback singer was warmly welcomed by ISAMRA’s Founder * Managing Director Dr(Hons) Mr. Sanjay Tandon. What made the occasion particularly meaningful was the opportunity to revisit memories of the early days, reflect on how far the fraternity has come and acknowledge the importance of standing together for the rights and recognition of performers.
Over the years, ISAMRA has worked towards protecting the rights of singers and musicians, strengthening awareness about performers’ royalties and ensuring that the voices and instrumental contributions behind India’s music receive their rightful recognition.
Speaking about the visit, Sanjay Tandon of ISAMRA said, “Welcoming Shreya Ghoshal to ISAMRA office was a very special moment for all of us. She has been with us since inception. We went down memory lane, remembering where we started and how far we have come. Shreya is not just an extraordinary singer but someone whose journey is deeply connected with the music fraternity. When artists of her stature stand alongside their fellow performers, it sends a powerful message. Every voice and every musician matters, and every performer deserves respect, recognition and their rightful dues. That is what ISAMRA stands for.”
Shreya Ghoshal’s visit reinforced the importance of celebrated artists remaining closely connected to the larger musical community. While individual achievements bring recognition and fame, it is the collective strength of performers that helps build a more secure and respectful future for the industry.
For ISAMRA, the occasion was more than a visit by one of India’s most admired singers. It reflected the emotional bond shared by artists who have contributed to the country’s rich musical heritage and the responsibility of ensuring that every performer, whether established or emerging, receives the dignity and respect they deserve.
The visit also brought into focus an important reality of the music industry: behind every memorable song stands a community of singers, instrumentalists and performers whose contributions deserve recognition long after the applause has faded.
As ISAMRA continues its efforts to strengthen performers’ rights in India, moments such as these serve as reminders that the fraternity’s greatest strength lies in its unity.
After all, music creates stars, but solidarity creates a legacy.
