Yash: ‘Ramayana Is in All Our Blood’; Calls for Indian Film Industry to Unite and Take Its Stories to the World

At the Ramayana trailer launch in Bengaluru, Rocking Star Yash spoke about the cultural significance of the epic and the importance of bringing the Indian film industry together to take its stories to a global audience. Proud to begin the film’s promotional campaign in Karnataka, the actor and producer highlighted how Ramayana represents a collective effort that goes beyond any single film industry. Yash was joined by his wife, Radhika Pandit, who was present at the event to support him, along with the film’s cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Ravi Dubey and Rakul Preet Singh, director Nitesh Tiwari and Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.

“This Ramayana is in all our blood. So, when making this film, this is not a work that can happen from just any one film industry. The entire Indian film industry must come together,” Yash said, acknowledging the contribution and encouragement of Kannadigas to the ambitious project.

Emphasising that the film was never treated as a regular cinematic venture, Yash said every artist involved approached it with devotion and the belief that they had been given an opportunity to tell India’s story to the world. He also highlighted the significance of Sony Pictures distributing the film worldwide on the scale of a Hollywood production, calling it a major achievement for Indian cinema.

Speaking about the need to take Indian stories beyond geographical boundaries, Yash stressed that the country must take pride in its culture and history while making an effort to share them with international audiences. “What is our history? What is our culture? If we sit waiting for someone else to say it, it cannot be told,” he said, adding that meaningful attempts require crossing borders, taking risks and looking beyond the possibilities within one’s immediate surroundings.

The actor-producer also called for greater unity within the Indian film industry, urging audiences to appreciate the intent and effort behind ambitious cinematic ventures. For him, Ramayana is an opportunity for Indian cinema to come together, celebrate its cultural roots, and create a lasting global impact.

Ramayana: Part One, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in association with Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on 5 November 2026.
