Kareena Kapoor Khan has spoken honestly about a decision from her younger years that she still regrets. Despite building one of the most successful careers in Hindi cinema, the actor says she wishes she had completed her education before fully stepping into the world of films.
In a recent conversation on Hanuman Das’ YouTube channel, Kareena shared that she stopped studying after Class 11 and chose to pursue acting. She said the decision was driven by her desire to prove herself as an actor, but the thought of not completing her education stayed with her over the years.
“I did not complete my education, and it has always remained with me,” Kareena said. She explained that she had an opportunity to continue studying but eventually entered films and did not go beyond Class 11.
Kareena admitted that people may question her decision, but at that stage of her life, she wanted to follow what her heart was telling her. Her focus was on acting, and she wanted to build a career in the profession she had chosen for herself.
However, success did not completely erase her feelings about leaving her studies unfinished. The actor made it clear that education remains an important part of her life story and something she wishes she had completed.
“Education is something I regret not completing,” she said while reflecting on her past.
Her Advice to Taimur and Jeh
Kareena’s own experience has also influenced the way she thinks about her children’s future. She wants her sons, Taimur and Jeh, to have the freedom to choose their own paths, but she believes education should come first.
According to Kareena, she encourages her children to complete their studies before following their individual passions. She wants them to listen to their hearts, but only after giving proper importance to education.
Her personal journey appears to be one of the reasons she feels strongly about this. Having entered the film industry at a young age and left her studies behind, Kareena does not want her children to make the same choice without first completing their education.
Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Educational Journey
Kareena studied at Jamnabai Narsee School in Mumbai and later attended Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. She subsequently studied Commerce at Mithibai College in Mumbai, although she did not complete her college degree.
Her education did not end there immediately. Kareena also attended Harvard Summer School, where she completed a three-month course in microcomputers.
Later, she enrolled at the Government Law College in Mumbai. However, her growing interest in acting eventually led her to leave her studies and focus on building a career in films.
That choice changed the course of her life. Kareena went on to become one of Bollywood’s most recognised actors, but she has now openly said that professional success did not remove her regret about not finishing her education.
Her Work With UNICEF and Girls’ Education
Kareena also connected her personal experience with her work supporting education in India. She said her own regret over leaving her studies incomplete played a role in shaping her interest in helping young girls receive better educational opportunities.
She has been associated with UNICEF India since 2014 and has supported initiatives related to girls’ education, gender equality and children’s access to quality learning.
For Kareena, education is not simply an academic qualification. Her recent comments suggest that she sees it as an opportunity that should not be taken lightly, especially by young people who are still deciding what they want to do in life.
Kareena Recently Responded to Pregnancy Rumours With Humour
The actor has also been in the news recently for her light-hearted response to pregnancy rumours. Kareena shared an Instagram Story featuring makeup artist Mitesh Rajani, who was seen playfully showing off a bloated stomach.
The post included the song Chocolate Lime Juice from the film Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! in the background, along with laughing and pizza emojis. The playful post was widely seen as Kareena’s humorous way of responding to the ongoing speculation.
What’s Next for Kareena Kapoor Khan?
On the professional front, Kareena was last seen in Singham Again, released in 2024. She is now expected to appear in Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar.
In the upcoming film, Kareena will reportedly play a police officer. Daayra is scheduled to arrive in theatres on September 18, 2026.
While fans continue to look forward to her next film, Kareena’s recent comments have offered a more personal glimpse into her life. Her journey shows that even after achieving major success, some decisions from the past can remain close to the heart.
For Kareena, not completing her education is clearly one of those decisions. And today, she appears to be using that experience to give her children a lesson she wishes she could have given her younger self: finish your education first, and then follow your heart.
